Final TPM-3 Successfully Held in Budapest A Major Step Toward Ecological Awareness

Budapest, August 31, 2024 – The Erasmus+ KA210-YOU project concluded its final Transnational Project Meeting (TPM-3) in Budapest, Hungary, from August 26-31, 2024. Representatives from Hungary, Malta, and Turkey gathered to wrap up the project’s activities and plan the last phase of public outreach, focusing on raising ecological literacy and promoting sustainable behaviors among young people aged 15-25.

As the last meeting in the project’s lifecycle, TPM-3 was a critical milestone, centering on the implementation of Activity-3: Public Awareness Campaigns. These campaigns are designed to educate the wider public about ecological issues and inspire action to protect the environment.

Key Achievements of TPM-3

  • Finalization of Public Awareness Campaign Materials: With input from all partner countries, brochures, posters, and social media content were completed and prepared for launch in the upcoming weeks. Each country tailored the materials to address local ecological challenges and engage young people in a meaningful way.
  • Implementation Plans Confirmed: All partners agreed on a detailed timeline for the campaigns, which will run from September to December 2024. The campaigns will aim to reach thousands of young people and their communities in Hungary, Malta, and Turkey, promoting sustainable practices and ecological literacy.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Framework: Partners developed robust tools, including surveys, focus groups, and media monitoring, to measure the success of the campaigns and ensure the intended impact is achieved. The results will be analyzed and reported during the final evaluation of the project.

Reflecting on the Journey

This final meeting allowed partners to reflect on the progress made throughout the Erasmus+ KA210-YOU project, which began with the goal of empowering young people to engage with ecological issues and adopt more sustainable lifestyles. “TPM-3 marked the culmination of years of hard work and collaboration,” said the Hungarian project lead. “We are now ready to launch the public campaigns that will bring ecological literacy to the forefront of public attention.”

The meeting also included a field visit to local environmental organizations in Budapest, giving participants the chance to explore successful community-based sustainability initiatives.

Next Steps and Project Closure

As the public awareness campaigns are set to roll out, the project is entering its final phase. Partners will regularly monitor campaign progress, collecting data to evaluate the effectiveness of their efforts in promoting ecological literacy. A final dissemination event will take place in early 2025, where the outcomes of the project will be shared with a broader audience, including educators, NGOs, and policymakers.
